William "Bill" Thompson

William “Bill” Thompson, 88, of Salina, KS, passed away on July 23, 2024, at the Salina Regional Hospital in Salina, KS. He was born on January 14, 1936, in Pleasant Hope, MO. Bill married Gretchen Eschbaugh on May 11, 1991.

Bill’s favorite hobbies were watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball, fishing and gardening. He cherished his time with his wife above all else, and he enjoyed having time with family and friends. Bill was a kind and gentle man and was loved by all.

He is survived by his wife, Gretchen Thompson of Salina; siblings, Robert (Lila), Richard (Jackie), Tom, Geraldine Jacobs, Kathleen (Thayer) Smith; brother-in-law, Steve (Jeanine) Eschbaugh; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nellie Mae (Howell) Parr and Seever Eugene Thompson; sister, Debra Thompson; and brother, Dennis Thompson.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024, at 11AM at the funeral home in Wilson. There will be no visitation.
