Vivian Lorine (Hopper) Webb passed away Friday, November 8, 2013 at Hays Medical Center at the age of 84. Lorine was born on August 29, 1929 in Hutchinson, Kansas to Willis “W.O.” and Goldie Cecil (Hegarty) Hopper. Lorine grew up in Hutchinson, Kansas and graduated from Hutchinson High School with the Class of 1945. She attended Salt City Business College in Hutchinson for a year and worked her entire professional life as a business owner and bookkeeper. She was united in marriage to William Kee on March 27, 1963, in Quinlan, Oklahoma. William passed away on June 3, 1982. In the Spring of 1985, Lorine was united in marriage to Dee L. Webb in Woodston, Kansas and they were together until his death in 1991. She was a member of the United Methodist Churches of Woodston and Stockton, as well as the Daughters of the American Revolution, the VFW Auxiliary, and the Order of the Eastern Star. Lorine was a hard working woman and a meticulous bookkeeper. She could be a bit of a perfectionist when it came to her books, especially if you weren’t using red ink in the proper way. She taught Pam how to sew at a young age, and in later years they enjoyed quilting together. Lorine also was an accomplished artist and gave away many of her oil paintings to family and friends whom she loved dearly. Of course her grandchildren held a special place in her heart. Indeed, she was the quintessential “Doting Grandma.” Lorine is survived by her children, Pam Jakoplic and husband Tom of Burrton, KS, Todd Kee and wife Shannon of Mountain Green, UT, and Allen Kee and wife Marci; grandchildren, Raina Leite and husband Ryan, Abigail Arnold and husband Chris, and William Kee; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents W.O. and Goldie Hopper, husbands William Kee and Dee L. Webb, two brothers and six sisters. Lorine was a woman of great character, strong values, and deep love for family and friends. Although she will be greatly missed, her love and influence will remain in the hearts and lives of her family and friends. May her legacy inspire each of us to encourage one another, cherish the ties that bind, and live to serve God, Home, and Country everyday of our lives.
