Tommy "Tom" Loren White passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016 at his home in Hoxie, Kansas. He was born August 17, 1954 at Gove County Hospital in Quinter, Kansas to Richard and Nadine White of Rural Sheridan County. He was the Tom in his father’s lifetime joke of naming his three boys Tom, Dick and Harry. He attended Hoxie Grade School and graduated from Hoxie High School with the Class of 1972. At the age of 17 he entered the United States Army. In 1975 Tom was married to Nancy Koster. They had two children, Nikki and Justin. They later divorced. On April 22, 1989 he was united in marriage to Rhonda Wente. Together they had two sons, Evan and Curtis. Throughout his lifetime Tom did a little bit of anything and everything. From construction and farming to owning an office supply store. He sold large construction equipment, was a mortgage broker, a real estate sales agent, and a Nex-Tech Wireless dealer. He opened and cooked in a couple of restaurants as well as a food vending trailer. A jack of all trades, he was the true definition of a Renaissance man and was good at anything he put his mind to. Tom is survived by his wife Rhonda White of the home; his sons, Justin White of Bennington, and Evan White and Curtis White both of Hoxie; daughter Nikki White of McLouth; stepson Landon Carver of Overland Park; stepdaughter Kelsey Epp and husband Kody of Hoxie; mother Nadine White of Hoxie; brothers Richard White and wife Beckie of Wichita, Harry White and wife Cathy of Boise, ID; sisters Shirley Slover and husband John of Topeka, and Patty White of Denver, CO; grandchildren Courtney Reilley, Vaiden, Zaine and Nadiah White, Jamie and Jake King, and Kane and Gage Epp; and a large number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Richard White, and an infant sister Charlene. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, March 25, 2016, at 2:00 P.M., at the Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home. Friends may sign the Register Book, Thursday, March 24, 2016, from 11:00 A.M. until 7:30 P.M. Family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 6:30 P.M. at Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home, Hoxie. Online condolences may be left at www.mickeyleopoldfuneral.com. Tom was wicked smart, but what most people experienced was his humor and wit – unafraid of embarrassing himself or the people with and around him. His personality took up a lot of space, and the world feels smaller for us without him in it.
