Thomas O'Shea Hearld

Thomas O’Shea Hearld passed away Friday, July 25, 2014 at the Kansas State Soldiers Home in Fort Dodge, Kansas at the age of 85. He was born May 14, 1929 in Tunnelton, West Virginia to Barney Henry and Rosetta Jane (Mercer) Hearld. Throughout his life Thomas worked on a farm, for the Railroad, as a messboy on two ships, in a restaurant, and for the Salvation Army. He joined the United States Air Force on August 23, 1951 and retired August 23, 1971 before moving to Plainville, Kansas. On July 2, 1976 Thomas was united in marriage to Earlyne Cooper in Stockton, Kansas. He became a member of the Masonic Paradise Lodge #290 in Plainville on October 4, 1982 and was a Past Royal Arch High Priest. He was also a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. Thomas is survived by his wife Earlyne of the home, three brothers, one sister, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
