Theron Monroe

Theron D. Monroe passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2012 in Plainville, Kansas at the age of 70. He was born August 17, 1941 to Myrlin and Ione (Beck) Monroe in Melvern, Kansas. Theron was united in marriage to Carol Carlyle on December 18, 1965. They had two daughters, Carla and Myra. Theron enjoyed a lifetime of hunting, fishing, and riding his motorcycle. Theron was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association. He is survived by his daughter, Myra Monroe and significant other Kendal Jones of Plainville, Kansas; mother, Ione Monroe of Osage City, Kansas; sister, Deanna Hickey and husband Gary of Osage City, Kansas; brother, Darrell Monroe and wife Eldena of Berryton, Kansas; five grandchildren, Toni Monroe, Quinton Bredemeier, Kami Monroe, Darla Monroe, and Dakota Ganoung; and great-grandchildren, Cameron and Hayden. Theron is preceded in death by his wife, Carol; daughter, Carla Monroe; and father, Myrlin. A Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2012 at the Moore-Overlease Funeral Chapel with Pastor Layton Hein officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
