Ruth A. Rolfe passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013, at Rooks County Health Center in Plainville, Kansas at the age of 82. She was born March 13, 1931 to Albert and Lena (Toelkes) Malin in Plainville. Ruth graduated from Plainville High School with the Class of 1949. She was united in marriage to Gerald Rolfe on December 6, 1955 in Plainville and he preceded her in death on August 19, 1998. Ruth spent most of her life as a homemaker. She loved quilting and working her crossword and jigsaw puzzles for fun. She even served as a Boy Scout leader in Codell, Kansas because there was no Girl Scout Troop at the time. Ruth was also a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainville. Ruth was a woman with a heart of gold. She was honest, kind, and down-to-earth. She gave without expecting anything in return and lived her life in order to pass those qualities on to others. Ruth is survived by her daughter Jeanette M. “Jeanie” Rolfe of Plainville; her son Patrick Ross and wife Sandi of North Kingstown, Rhode Island; one grandchild Kelly Ross and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Lena Malin; husband, Gerald; son Wesley “Wes” Rolfe and wife Judy; two brothers, John and Francis Malin; and one sister, Alice Thyfault. Although she will be greatly missed by those she leaves behind, Ruth will live forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She always had ears to listen, arms that would always hold, love that was never ending, and a solid heart of gold.
