Rosilee June (Glodfelty) Folsom passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Redbud Village in Plainville, Kansas at the age of 82. She was born on March 25, 1935 on the family farm, in Rooks County, Kansas, just south of Woodston, to the late Irving C. and Blanche (Cook) Glodfelty. After graduating from Woodston High School with the Class of 1953, she was united in marriage to Lyle R. Folsom on May 23, 1953 in Phillipsburg, Kansas. They were blessed with three children, Sandra, Darin, and Valerie. Rosilee loved helping people. She spent most of her professional life working as a teacher’s aide in Plainville; working in the classroom, riding the bus with kids, and taking tickets in the lunch line. She also worked at Hadley Regional Medical Center in Hays, Kansas as a Certified Nursing Assistant, helping patients in the rehabilitation and treatment facilities. Rosilee was a member of the United Methodist Church in Plainville and the Rooks County Health Center Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time visiting with family and friends, and was always ready for a night out dancing whenever she had the opportunity. But the greatest love of her life was her grandchildren. She made sure her house was splendidly decorated for the holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas, and always saw to it that everyone received too many presents. Rosilee is survived by her children Sandy Chard and husband Gary of Zurich, Darin Folsom and wife Sherry of Overland Park, and Valerie Fuzzell and husband Rusty of Plainville; sisters Dorothy Dibble of Osborne, and Ruby Jackson of Stockton; grandchildren Cynthia Finnesy, Jeremy and Allyson Chard, Chanelle Chard, Brittney and Bryan VonFeldt, Brooklyn Folsom, Trenton and Lindsey Fuzzell, and Tierra and Shayne Brown; eleven great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and three step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Irving and Blanche Glodfelty, husband Lyle Folsom, brother Herbert Glodfelty, and sisters Leona Silvers and Wanda Chesney. The Apostle Paul reminds us, “Now these three remain: faith, hope, and love.” Rosilee was a woman of strong faith, abiding hope, and deep love. By her daily example of encouragement and affection she showed us that indeed, “The greatest of these is love.” Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, November 3, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in Plainville. Burial will follow in the Plainville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00pm on Thursday, and from 9:00-11:00am on Friday, at the funeral home.
