Rose M. (Frazey) Carder passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at the Sheridan County Health Complex Long Term Care Unit in Hoxie, Kansas at the age of 83. She was born on September 17, 1932 to Joseph and Troy (Carr) Frazey in Dresden, Kansas. She grew up on a farm with two brothers and two sisters. On October 30, 1949 Rose married Ralph E. Carder at the Methodist Church Parsonage in Hoxie. She attended Sheridan Community High School and graduated with the Class of 1950. She was a member of the Christ Community Church. Rose was a hard worker and not afraid to try anything. In her younger years she was a welder, worked at the First National Bank of Hoxie, had a daycare in her home, and worked as a retail clerk for many local businesses, including Plum Creek, Ben Franklin, and H & S Repair Sales and Service. She retired at the age of eighty. Ralph and Rose raised a family of six children, Pamela, Suzanne, Ross, Jana, Rex, and Amy. She was a loving mother who made sure her children minded. She loved running the daycare and was a great influence on the children she took care of, many of whom would come back to visit her now and then. She was a very creative person and liked knitting, crocheting, sewing, quilting, and oil painting. She made a lot of clothes for her children and even made Ralph’s suits. Rose is survived by her sons, Ross Carder of Hoxie, Kansas & Rex Carder (Delores) of Safety Harbor, Florida; daughters, Pamela Rall (Chris) of The Woodlands, Texas, Suzanne Cooper (Craig) of Hoxie, Kansas, Jana Getz (Kirk) of Hoxie, Kansas, and Amy Jo Kroetch (Toby) of Philip, South Dakota; brother, Forrest Frazey (Lillian) of Hoxie, Kansas; and sister-in-law, Edith Frazey of Hoxie, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Troy Frazey; husband, Ralph E. Carder; brothers, Warren and Zane Frazey; sisters, Bertha Liester and Ramona Frazey; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Carder; grandson, Cody Cooper; and grandson-in-law, Eric McDonald.
