Ronald Frank Pertl

Ronald Frank Pertl passed away at his home on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at the age of 88. He was born on January 25, 1933 to Frank and Julia (Lilak) Pertl in Russell County, Kansas. Ronald was united in marriage to Joyce (Konzem) Pertl on April 15, 1961 at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Tipton. The couple was blessed with two children: Brian and Laura. Ronald spent his whole life in the house he was born, he attended Lucas High School and graduated with the class of 1952. From 1953 until 1955 Ronald served in the United States Army. He loved music and played in the United States Army band as a trumpeter. Following his service he returned to work on the family farm, and worked as a school custodian for 10 years, and drove the bus Ronald enjoyed his time at the school but enjoyed being outside and farming so he returned to his first love of farming his later years.. He was known for his easy going and laid back nature, his love for polka music and Czech history. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Julia Pertl. Ronald is survived by his wife, Joyce Pertl of the home; children, Brian (Pamela) Pertl of Bunker Hill, KS, and Laura (Gene) Pierce of Bullard, TX; grandchildren, William Pertl (Mindy Montgomery), Tosha (Josh) McBride, Jillian (Patrick) Kent, and Khristopher Pierce; and great-grandchildren, Odessa Pertl, Mox Pertl, Tahlia McBride, and Everest McBride. The family will be hosting a Memorial Service on Monday, May 10, 2021 at the Lucas United Methodist Church in Lucas, Kansas starting at 11 AM.
