December 27, 1937 — March 26, 2015

Phillip Lester Sealock passed away Thursday , March 26, 2015 at his home in Sheridan County, Kansas at the age of 77. He was born December 27, 1937 in Hoxie, Kansas to Vern Lester and Florence Edith (Cooper) Sealock. He graduated from Sheridan Community High School with the Class of 1956. On July 21, 1957 he was united in marriage to Wanda Lea Hendrix at the United Methodist Church in Hoxie, Kansas. Phillip grew up living with, loving, and serving the people of Sheridan County. Always generous of heart, he thrived on helping friends and neighbors alike. He was a 4-H Leader, and an elder in the church. Never a stranger to anyone, to know Phillip was to be a friend. For Phillip, farming and ranching was not a job, it was a way of life. He enjoyed working and raised his family with a sense of pride and joy for the blessings of God, family, and good neighbors. He liked family meals at the Elks club and never missed a game of all the kids’ and grandkids’ sporting events. He loved to travel and visited Germany, Brazil, Australia, and Alaska among many other places. Phillip is survived by his wife, Wanda; son, Lester Sealock and wife Darla of Hoxie, Kansas; daughters, Tina Sealock of Colby, Kansas; Julie Lewis of Eaton, Colorado, and Tiffni Carter and husband Steve of Hoxie, Kansas; sisters, Donna Mowry and husband Richard of Morland, Kansas, Shirley Farber of Norton, Kansas, and Jan Pyle and husband Jon of Lawrence, Kansas; grandchildren, Deadria Lewis and husband Dustin, Shaylin Sealock and fiance Mario, Taunie Sealock, Britton Sealock, Conner Lewis, Phillip Carter, Erin Carter, and Kaden Carter; and great-granchildren, Rogan Lewis, Reid Lewis, Persephanie Sealock. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vern and Florence Sealock. Phillip was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and man. He lived his life by the Golden Rule, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” His loss will leave a place in our hearts and lives that no one else can fill, but his love, his memories, and his legacy will remain with us forever.
