Pearl E. Atkisson went peacefully to heaven on April 9, 2013, at the age of 85. She was born on a farm south of Fort Morgan, Colorado, June 13, 1927, to John Robert and Lola Madge (Stauffer) Prettyman. Pearl grew up in Colorado and then her family moved to Alma, Nebraska. Pearl married Delbert Stone. They had eight children, Ivan, Verna, Dennis, Sharon, Donna, Gayle, Diana and Pam. She married Robert Elmer Atkisson on April 12, 1962. To this union Robert brought 4 children, Robert S., Susan, Barbara and Pat. They together had one daughter, Mary Lou. Pearl was a member of the Hobart Homemakers Group FCE. She enjoyed watching sand hill cranes, deer, hockey, the demo derby and bull riding. She also enjoyed traveling. Pearl so loved her family, especially all the grandkids. Survivors include her children, Ivan (Marsha) Stone, Verna (Joy) Byerly, Sharon (Mel) James, Donna Price, Diana (Wendell) Peacock, Pam (Joe) Hollman, Mary Lou Atkisson; daughter-in-law, Renita Fisher; step-children, Robert S. (Kathy) Atkisson, Susan (Larry) Bedore, Barbara Morris and Pat (Joe) Johnson; 1 niece and 2 nephews; 44 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Margie) Prettyman; and a very special friend, Julie Siefers, and many other friends and family. Pearl is preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, sons Dennis and Gayle Stone, brother Paul Prettyman, grandson Jason Stone and nephew Curtis Prettyman. Pearl’s life was a precious and beautiful gift to her family and friends, and the memories made with her will be cherished forever. Reception: American Legion Hall
