Patricia A. Stiles

Patricia A. (Weber) Stiles passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Sandstone Heights Nursing Home in Little River, Kansas at the age of 90. She was born July 27, 1923 to Leo and Elizabeth (Anderson) Weber in Wilson, Kansas. After graduating from Wilson High School, Patricia attended St. Mary’s College in Leavenworth, Kansas where she received her bachelor’s degree in chemistry in only 3 years and graduated Magna Cum Laude. After college, she went to work as a medical technologist at Ellsworth County Veterans Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth, Kansas for over twenty years. On September 12, 1944, Patricia was united in marriage to Joseph L. Stiles at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wilson, Kansas. To this union seven children were born, including four boys and three girls. In addition, she was a key worker in Joseph’s businesses, including funeral service in Sylvan Grove and Wilson, Kansas for over fifty years. Patricia loved her family, church, reading and playing bridge. Survivors include her sons, Tim Stiles and wife Sharon of Shawnee, Kevin Stiles of Houston, TX, Patrick Stiles and wife Pam of Claflin, Dr. Mike Stiles and wife Michella of Leawood; daughter, Sandra Krusich and husband Jim of Pittsburgh; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; parents, Leo and Elizabeth Weber; two daughters, Sharon Ann Stiles and Sheila Louise (Stiles) Mauro; and one grandchild. Patricia was greatly loved and will be greatly missed. Her love, her intelligence, her faith, and her compassion helped raise an amazing family, and impacted the lives of all who knew her. Whether life was dealing an easy hand or a difficult one, we all learned how to live with amazing grace, joy, and happiness. She taught us all how to be true winners.
