Patricia “Pat” Bartlett passed from this earthly realm on Sunday, January 19, 2014 with loving family around her. Pat was born in Rooks County, Kansas on March 16, 1927 to Clarence and Stella (Widman) Baumgartner. She graduated from Plainville High School and attended Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas. She married Don Bartlett on September 9, 1946 and they celebrated 53 years together. To this union they were blessed with Brent and Kyle. Pat enjoyed life to the fullest, playing the organ in church for over 70 years. Other hobbies included reading, sewing, knitting, needlepoint, crocheting, photography, and any new craft that could be found. She loved fishing, flying kites, gardening, flowers, hauling wheat, picnics, and her favorite stress reliever besides music was mowing grass on her riding lawnmower. She leaves her 3 grandchildren, Joshua & Katie Parson of Plainville, Caleb & Michelle Parson of Plainville, and Danielle Parson of Victoria; step-grandchildren, Joshua & Allison Bieker of Plainville; sister-in-law, Joan Garvert of Salina; and nieces, Caryn & Wade Kennedy and family of Emporia, Noelle & Lenny Sliva & Becker of Olathe, and Nathyn Kennedy of Emporia; Sharon & Bob Rogers and family of El Dorado, Nick & Becky, Ethan & Luke of Lawrence, Aryn Rogers of El Dorado, and Preston Rogers of Gardner. Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Don in 1999; son, Brent Bartlett; and daughter, Kyle Raye Bartlett Parson; and her parents, Clarence and Stella Baumgartner Pat was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. For Pat, life was one grand, sweet song that has never ended. Her love, her encouragement, and her music has given each of us faith to our souls, peace to our lives, and joy for generations to come.
