Nova V. (Aumiller) Mader passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Citizen Medical Center in Colby, Kansas at the age of 80. She was born on March 23, 1936 to the late Glenn and Margorie (Batchelor) Aumiller in Selden, Kansas. She attended school in Selden and on October 6, 1956 she was united in marriage to Sylvanes Mader at the Catholic Church in Selden where she soon became a member. Nova and Sylvanes lived in Russell Springs, Kansas for a short time before moving to Hoxie where they lived raised their family for the remainder of their lives. Along with raising her family, she worked in the Housekeeping Department at the Sheridan County Health Complex in Hoxie for many years where she retired in 2003. She enjoyed spending time and visiting with friends, playing Bingo, and relaxing on the porch with her dog by her side; but the true love of her life was her family. Nova is survived by her sons, Charles Mader of Hoxie, Darrel Mader of Hoxie, and Glenn Mader of Russell; daughter, Barbara Miller and husband Verle of Hays; brothers, Winslow “Elery” Aumiller and wife Jean of Hoxie, Ohio “Pete” Aumiller of Hoxie, Gary Aumiller and wife Evelyn of Lenora; sister, Alice Stillwell and husband, Charles of Topeka; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, John Ashbaugh of Hoxie, Alvin Mader of Quinter, and Harold Linberger of Hays; and sisters-in-law, Esther Befort (Jim) of Broomfield, Colorado, Lillian Lieker of Schoechen, Lillian McDermott of Denver, Colorado, and Mary Lang of Ellsworth, Kansas. She was preceded in death by parents, Glenn and Margorie Aumiller; husband, Sylvanes Mader; son, Bernard Mader; grandson, Jonathan Ray Mader; Granddaughter, Kimberly Miller; brothers, Roy Lee and Claude Aumiller; and sisters, Glenidan Rodriguez, Laveda Aumiller, and Pauline Ashbaugh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 29, 2016, at the Saint Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Hoxie, at 10:00 A.M. Burial in the St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Cemetery will follow the service. Visitation will be Sunday, August 28, 2016, from Noon until 8:00 P.M., Family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. with a vigil at 7:00 P.M., at Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home.
