Norma Jean Rupp

Norma Jean (Zigler) Rupp passed away Saturday, September 13, 2014 at her home in Wilson, Kansas at the age of 74. She was born November 21, 1939 to Harold and Dorothy (Goulding) Zigler on an oil lease in Russell County, Kansas. She attended school in Russell and graduated from Russell High School with the class of 1958. She was united in marriage to Richard Rupp on June 16, 1966 in Russell, Kansas. Although she suffered hearing loss from M?ni?re's Disease, she never let it slow her down. In fact, when the opportunity came, she was one of the first people to undergo inner ear treatment procedures to improve hearing. She enjoyed arts and crafts, reading, and movies. She was a member of the Wilson United Methodist Church and found great comfort in the love of God and the words of the 23rd Psalm. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Richard; son, Brad Kaufman of Vallejo, CA; daughters, Angela Arnet and husband Fred of Russell and Lisa Turnbull and husband Ward of Abilene; sister, Judy Werner of Russell; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Dorothy Zigler, and her sister Barbara Thomas of Waldo. Norma was an inspiration to her family and friends. Gentle and tender hearted, she also had a spirit of great courage, strength, and love. She will be greatly missed, but will live forever in the memories of all who loved and knew her.
