Naydene Josephine (Munk) Spresser passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016, at the Sheridan County Health Complex in Hoxie, Kansas, at the age of 76. She was born on November 5, 1939 to Joseph A. and Mary Esther (Schmidt) Munk in Hays, Kansas. She grew up and attended school in Oakley, Kansas graduating from Oakley High School with the class of 1957. She was married to Donald Hockersmith in 1957. They later divorced. Naydene met the love of her life, Harold “Harry” Spresser, (widower of Maryln Rueschhoff). Naydene and Harry were united in marriage on May 20, 1970, in Oakley, Kansas. As they blended their families, together they raised 13 children. Naydene was a member of Saint Frances Cabrini Catholic Church and the Sodality. She was a strong woman of faith and raised her children as such. She loved gardening and her flowers were admired by many as they passed by on Main Street. She enjoyed attending and watching all activities in which her family participated. Her love for quilting included a special quilt for each grandchild upon their high school graduation. Naydene’s passion was babysitting and caring for others. She was most comfortable with a house full of kids and always one or two on her lap. Naydene is survived by her husband, Harold (Harry) Spresser of the home; sons, Larry Spresser (Julia) of Pittsburg, Kansas, Jerry Spresser (Melissa) of Hoxie, Kansas, Terry Spresser (Rebecca) of Monument, Colorado, Kyle Spresser, Mike Waggener and David Waggener of Hoxie, Kansas; daughters, DeeAnn Schamberger (Ray) of Hoxie, Kansas, Sheri Baalman (Brian) of Menlo, Kansas, Danette (Suzie) Newell (Steve) of Hoxie, Kansas, Sharon Schamberger (Ron) of Hoxie, Kansas; Diahn Moss (Don) of Hoxie, Kansas, Darla Peanasky (Bob) of Plover, Wisconsin; brothers, Dick Munk of Newport, Nebraska, Frank Munk of Oakley, Kansas, Garrie Munk of Russell, Kansas, Craig Munk of Lockhart, Texas, and Jodie Munk of Oakley, Kansas; sister, Eloise Tholen of Hays, Kansas, Marietta Dreiling of Holdridge, Nebraska, and Barbara Voth of Oakley, Kansas; thirty-two grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph A. and Mary Esther Munk, brother, Keith Munk; sister, Billie Ostmeyer; daughter Donna Jo Woofter, and daughter-in-law, Pam Waggener. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Saint Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Hoxie, Monday, March 7, 2016, at 10:00 A.M. Visitation will be held March 6, 2016 from Noon until 5:00 P.M. at Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home and from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. , at the Saint Frances Cabrini Catholic Church,Hoxie. A vigil service will be held at 7:00 P.M. at the church. Family will receive friends at the Saint Frances Cabrini Catholic Church from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Memorials are suggested to the Sheridan County Benefit Walk or the Saint Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Hoxie, and may be sent to Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home, PO Box 987, Hoxie, Kansas 67740.
