Mildred Loreen Hutchcraft passed away Thursday, November 28, 2013 at the Rooks County Health Center in Plainville at the age of 86. She was born August 26, 1927 to Ferd and Bertha (Queen) Kemmerer in Jewell, Kansas. Mildred attended school in Jewell and graduated from the Jewell High School with the class of 1945. After graduation she attended beauty school in Salina. She was united in marriage to William Roger Hutchcraft on June 6, 1948 near Jewell. They were blessed with two children; Jim and Patricia. In their early years, Mildred and Bill managed the Garden Motel in Ellsworth. After moving to Plainville, she worked for the hospital as a Nurse’s Aide. And later, she worked for the Plainville Nursing Home as a Medication Aide. Mildred was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church where she was a past member of the church council and United Methodist Women. This faith also lead her and Bill on several mission trips to Costa Rica. Mildred enjoyed gardening and could grow anything. After moving in to Redbud Village, she enjoyed taking care of their flower garden. She loved her family and especially adored her great-grandkids. Mildred is survived by her daughter, Patricia & Gary Meyers of Plainville; brother, Robert Kemmerer of Beloit; 4 grandchildren, Cynthia Hutchcraft, Scott Hutchcraft, Michele & Sean Hinger, and Lisa Hughes; six great-grandchildren, Zachary & Jenna Hinger, Gillian & Nichele Hughes, and William & Kathryn Hutchcraft. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; son Jim Hutchcraft; parents, Ferd & Bertha Kemmerer; brother, John; and sister, Katherine Ross. Mildred was a woman of deep love and devotion. Her faith in God was not only a constant source of strength for herself, but also for her family and friends. Reception: Plainville United Methodist Church
