Mary Alice (Southard) Ceridon passed away on Friday, July 15, 2016 at the home she shared with her daughter, Maile Lani Richert, and family in Swansboro, North Carolina at the age of 71. Mary Alice was born on June 9, 1945 in Stockton, Kansas to the late Sumner and Pauline Southard. She grew up in Stockton where she attended primary school and graduated from Stockton High School with the Class of 1963. After high school she pursued and received a degree in Interior Decorating from Kansas State University. Mary Alice has lived in Oklahoma, Colorado, Texas, Massachusetts, and most recently, North Carolina, but she has always called Kansas her home. Thanks to her many years working for Continental Airlines, Mary Alice was able to pursue her love of traveling. She has visited countless destinations throughout the world. Mary Alice is survived by her favorite travel companions, her three children and three grandchildren. Her eldest son, Samuel Juan William Ceridon, lives in Sacramento, California with his wife Alexis Ceridon, their two sons Kellan Kekoa Ceridon and Dylan Makaio Ceridon and his step-son Noah William Hightower. Her eldest daughter, Kimi Malia Ceridon lives in Medford, Massachusetts with her husband Oivind Brockmeier and playful dog Jethro. Her youngest daughter, Maile Lani Richert lives in Swansboro, North Carolina with her husband Trevor Richert, their son Evan Keali’i Richert and two dogs Lulu and Chili. She is also survived by her aunt, Laura McGowan of Salina, Kansas and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and older sister, Anita Kay Southard. Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home in Stockton, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Stockton Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30pm on Friday at the funeral home.
