Marie N. Erbert Morel

Marie Nelda (Bouchey) Morel Erbert passed away Thursday, October 15, 2015 at the Solomon Valley Manor in Stockton, Kansas at the age of 92. She was born on January 18, 1923 in Zurich, Kansas to the late Henry and Hattie (Martell) Bouchey. She grew up in the Zurich area and graduated from Palco High School with the Class of 1941. On March 7, 1942 Marie was united in marriage to Elmer Morel in San Diego, California. They were blessed with three children, Ronnie “Red,” Jackie, and Michelle. Elmer passed away July 16, 1965. She was later united in marriage to Frank Erbert. As a homemaker, Marie loved raising her family and being a wife and mother. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting, and needlepoint. Always part of the social circles in town, she liked spending time with friends, especially when they got together for a good card game. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Damar, and the St. Ann’s Ladies. Marie is survived by her daughters Jackie Rohleder and husband Paul of Salina, and Michelle Iannone of Coconut Creek, FL; grandchildren Rachelle Eichman and husband Bryant, Ashley Desaire and husband Stephan, Shana Echavarria and husband Alex, Holly Rohleder, Eric Rohleder and wife Shelley, Jodi Glebe and husband Dan, Allen Staab, and Robin Alexander; great-grandchildren Alisha, Grant, and Jada Echavarria, Sophie, Benjamin, and Samantha Rohleder, Ashley, Chelsey, and Caitlin Wessel, Adyen, Emily, and Reese Christianson, and Emma Staab; step great-grandchildren Desi, Dominic, Brayden, and Serenity Desaire; and great-great-grandchildren Brooklyn Combs, Gabriel Scheurro, and Elizabeth and Madison Deutscher. She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Hattie Bouchey, husbands Elmer Morel and Frank Erbert, son Red Morel, brothers Eddie and Raymond Bouchey, and sister Elsie Bedore. Marie was a woman of faith, hope, and love. She lived everyday with her friends, family and neighbors, knowing that the greatest of these is love and showing it by her words and actions. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
