Margaret Eileen Vaneaton

Margaret Eileen (Suchsland) VanEaton passed away Thursday, November 27, 2014 at the Ottawa County Health Center in Minneapolis, Kansas at the age of 89. She was born on March 10, 1925 in Kensington, Kansas to Henry and Margaret (Levin) Suchsland. Margaret graduated from Agra High School with the Class of 1941. She was united in marriage to Merton Dwane VanEaton on August 8, 1948 at the First Lutheran Church in Phillipsburg, Kansas. They were blessed with two sons, Quentin and Robert. Margaret worked at Boyd and Conn Grocery Store in Stockton, as well as the Ben Franklin store in Stockton before becoming the cook for the Stockton Schools. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Phillipsburg, and loved celebrating her favorite holiday which was Christmas. She enjoyed taking adventurous hikes in the Black Hills and hunting for arrowheads. However, above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Margaret is survived by her sons Quentin Van Eaton and wife Dianna of Minneapolis, and Robert VanEaton and wife Lori of Norton; sister Mildred Dettmer of Kensington; five grandchildren, Trent VanEaton and wife Jenny, Thane VanEaton and wife Erica, Trevor VanEaton, Ashley VanEaton, and Blake VanEaton; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Margaret Suchsland, her husband Merton VanEaton, and a sister Verna Bose. Margaret was a woman of great faith and love for her Lord, her family, and her friends. She will be greatly missed because she was greatly loved. She will live forever in the hearts and memories of all who knew her.
