Margaret Joann "Mimi" Taylor

Margaret “Mimi” Joann Taylor passed away Monday, April 14, 2014 at Hays Medical Center at the age of 80. She was born June 28, 1933 to Ray and Alma Pauline (Richardson) Brown in Zurich, Kansas. Mimi attended school in Webster and graduated from Webster High School with the class of 1952. She was united in marriage to Howard Lee Taylor, Sr, on September 1, 1953 in Hays, Kansas. Mimi worked at the Hadley Hospital and later Sheridan County Health Complex until she retired. She also worked for Travenol and Alanz and Sons. She was a member of Hoxie Christian Church and volunteered at the Hoxie Swap Shop. Mimi enjoyed fishing, crocheting, playing cards, and what fun she had at garage sales. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Paula Carver and Linda Mask and husband Verlon all of Hoxie; son, Howard Lee Taylor, Jr. and wife Suzette of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; seven grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Alma Brown; husband, Howard Lee Taylor, Sr; and infant daughter, Patty Sue Taylor. Mimi’s life was a shining example of loving gratitude. Forever thankful for the blessings in your life both large and small, she was an encouragement to all who knew her. She leaves in each of us a thankful heart of grace and mercy, for she loved greatly and was greatly loved.
