Margaret Louise Hays passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014 at her home near Plainville, Kansas at the age of 83. She was born October 9, 1930 to Oberlin and Ruth (Stephens) Holladay in El Dorado, Kansas. Margaret graduated from El Dorado High School with the Class of 1948. Later, she went on to earn her degree at Bartlesville Beauty College in 1963. On June 18, 1949 she married Bert Hays in El Dorado, Kansas. To this union was born a son, Ervene. Margaret was a hardworking, loving woman who enjoyed life and knew how to have fun. She owned her own beauty shop in Dewey, Oklahoma, loved to cook, and was a “giver” to friends and family alike. Whether playing golf as a young woman, playing cards, or dressing up as a witch for Halloween, Grannie was always the life of the party with her great laugh and never-ending smile. Margaret also loved fly fishing. She looked forward to the annual trip she and Bert took to Roaring River in Missouri. But no matter what was going on, she always found time to relax with her crafts, never grew tired of giving to others, and always made sure that family came first. Her family was the light of her life. Margaret is survived by her son Ervene Hays and wife Lorna of Plainville; brother Robert Holladay of El Dorado; grandchildren, Bryan Hays, Tosha Hays, and Addie Hays and fianc? Joshua Holmes; and eight great-grandchildren, Izak Hays, Elijah Hays, Kobe Hays, Aniya Hays, Zayvier Chavez-Hays, Jenae Holmes, Taesen Holmes, and Veidyn Holmes. She was preceded in death by her parents Oberlin and Ruth, husband Bert, brothers Roland and Donald Holladay, and sister Mary Ruth Bracken. Reception: Knights of Columbus Hall
