Marc D. Gray died Monday, December 16, 2013, in Cloud County, Kansas, at the age of 46. He was born September 9, 1967 to Douglas and Sue (Hamilton) Gray. Marc attended Kansas State University in Manhattan, and was a graduate of Emporia State University. He worked as a District Wildlife Biologist for the State of Kansas since 1994. To say that Marc, or “Buck” as he was known in certain circles, was an avid outdoorsman would be an understatement. He ate, drank, breathed and lived hunting and fishing. His sisters often complained at the dinner table, “Can’t we ever talk about anything else besides hunting and fishing?” Also, it is believed he regularly received his mail in his tree stand at Paradise Creek. As much as Marc loved the outdoors, he loved his family and friends even more. From helping dad and mom to being the infamous “Store Robber” with the girls to school sporting events to parties or just hanging out with friends, he never wanted to miss a thing. His kids were his true life and passion. He is survived by his wife Celeste; son Jaden Perkins; daughters Laural and Addison; his parents Douglas and Sue Gray of Salina; sisters Cathy (Mike) Wilcox and their daughters McKenzie and Mallory of Andover, and Emily (Doug) Schrader and their daughter Taylor of Salina; an uncle Jon Hamilton of Ottawa; an aunt Glenda (Bill) Young of Corvallis, MT; and many friends who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Ervin and Eula Gray and Don and Catherine Hamilton. Marc will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in our hearts and minds. Through his life he taught us how to live our dreams, through his example he taught us how to enjoy the fruits of our labor, but above all, through his love he taught us how to serve God and one another with undying devotion.
