Lucinda Lee Butler

Lucinda Lee (Hammond) Butler passed away on Monday, November 6, 2017 at her home in Stockton, Kansas at the age of 71. She was born on January 1, 1946 in Ulysses, Kansas to the late Raymond Charles and Mignon Lorena (Moyer) Hammond. She grew up in the Ulysses area and graduated from Ulysses High School. She went on to attend nursing school for one year. On September 15, 1965 she was married to Guy Brollier in Ulysses. They had three children, Clint, Richard, and Anna. They later divorced. She married Bacil Butler on August 5, 1980 in Georgetown, Colorado. Along with being a mother and farmwife, Lucinda worked in law enforcement, served in the United States Army Reserve, worked in the forestry service, drove a truck, and worked as a park ranger at Glen Elder Reservoir, also known as Waconda Lake. She enjoyed being outside, whether working or playing, spending time hunting, fishing, and camping. She also enjoyed sewing, bead work and leather work, and painting. She was a member of the Kansas State Rifle Association and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. For the last year and a half, she insisted on staying home to take care of her loving companion, her little dog, Princess. Lucinda is survived by her children Clint Brollier of Ulysses, Richard Brollier and wife Angela of Ulysses, and Anna Wiedrich of White City, OR; siblings Dorothy Hollingsworth of Fair Oaks, CA, and Phillip Hammond and wife Teresa of Ulysses; and grandchildren Barry Wiedrich, David Wiedrcih, Michael Brollier, Darrick Brollier, Marcus Brollier, and Ethan Brollier. She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Mignon Hammond, and husbands Guy Brollier and Bacil Butler. Lucinda was a hardworking woman who took care of her family and helped friends and neighbors whenever they were in need. The legacy of her work ethic, determination, and love has been carried on through her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, November 17, 2017 at Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home in Stockton. Inurnment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery near Alton. There will be no visitation.
