Lorine R. Walker

Funeral services for Lorine R. Walker, age, 78, of Stockton will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 31, 2010 at the Smith-Moore-Overlease Funeral Home in Stockton with Reverend Steve Slate officiating. Mrs. Walker passed away Monday, December 27, 2010 at the Solomon Valley Manor in Stockton. She was born March 12, 1932, in Pratt, Kansas the daughter of Joe and Opal (Parker) Graham. Lorine worked as a waitress in the Stockton area all her life and was a member of the Stockton Assembly of God Church in Stockton and enjoyed sewing, and fishing. She was involved in the Boy Scouts and 4-H when her children were growing up. On October 4, 1949, she married Leo M. Walker in Phillipsburg. This marriage was later dissolved. She lived in Bozeman, Montana for a few years before returning to Kansas to be closer to family. Survivors include her daughters Saundra Ford of Albany, Louisiana, Phyllis Gengler of Beloit, Kansas, Marcia Duncan of Stockton, Kansas, Rhonda Walker of Stockton, Kansas; sons James Walker of Stockton, Kansas, John Walker and wife Darlene of Stockton, Kansas, Joe Walker of Osborne, Kansas, and Jay and wife Dana Walker of Buffalo, Oklahoma; 24 grandchildren, 26 Great Grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild. Her son Jerry preceded her in death along with a granddaughter Bailey Walker; grandson Mike Driscoll; daughter in law Tammie Walker; two son in laws Frank Gengler, Don Driscoll; and two sisters Louise Lawless and Fern Dunbar. Burial will be in the Stockton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9-8 Thursday, 9-1 Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, the Solomon Valley Manor, or the American Diabetes Association and may be sent in care of the Smith-Moore-Overlease Funeral Home, 723 N.
