Lila Edna Hulse-Johnson passed away Thursday evening, May 30, 2013, at the Rooks County Health Center in Plainville at the age of 94. Edna was born on January 30, 1919 to Jesse LeRoy and Lila Mae (Fetterolf) Hulse in Rooks County, Kansas near Webster. Edna was from a family of five boys and five girls. She attended school in Webster, Kansas. She was united in marriage to Ernest Johnson. Ernest preceded her death. Edna worked at the Midway Caf? in Stockton for many years. She took on many roles in the restaurant. Edna loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed dancing, singing, needlepoint and the Rooks County Fair. She looked forward to her daughter Verna taking her to see the crafts every year. Her memory will be cherished by her son, Lynn Johnson (Bernadine Schultz) of Great Bend; daughter, Verna Hanson (Jim Hutton) of Palco; grandchildren, Michael Johnson of Wichita, Jessica Duckers (Kirk), Brian Trauer, and Tyler Trauer all of Overland Park; and great-granddaughter, Shaylee Benoit of Damar, Preceding Edna in death are her parents, Jesse and Lila Hulse; husband, Ernest Johnson; brothers, William Edward, Lloyd Clair, Johnnie LeRoy, Jesse Dean and Merle Duane Hulse; and sisters, Grace Mae Watkins, Lillian Faye Snider, Lura Edith Hance and Evelyn LaVern Tegarden. Those we love remain with us for love itself lives on, and cherished memories never fade because a loved one is gone. Those we love can never be more than a thought apart, for as long as there is memory they’ll live on in the heart.
