Lester E. Look, of Hays, KS, formerly of Stockton, KS, passed away on March 7, 2023, in Sabetha, KS at the age of 92. He was born on October 6, 1930, to Bryan and Mary Ethel (Bridwell) Look in Stockton, KS. He married Avis Schindler on May 17, 1952, in Belleville, KS. They were blessed with two daughters: Patricia and Diane.
Lester grew up in Stockton and graduated from Stockton High School in 1948. Right out of high school he started a harvesting crew and bought his own combine. He was inducted into the U.S. Army in 1952, serving as an MP on bases in Georgia and Colorado. He then worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. He built his own Ham Radio and would talk to people on his handle WA0GRM. He also helped set up communications for the Kansas University games. Lester accomplished so many things in his life as a pilot, certified morse code teacher, boy scout leader, Ham Club organizer - and he could fix ANYTHING! He loved flying, traveling to Colorado, and woodworking. He was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and held many offices.
Lester will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in our hearts and minds. Through his life he taught us how to live our dreams, through his example he taught us how to enjoy the fruits of our labor, but above all, through his love he taught us how to serve God and one another with undying devotion.
