Leonard C. Werner passed away Thursday April 4, 2013 at his home in Plainville, Kansas at the age of 79. He was born in Rooks County, Kansas on September 14, 1933 to Joseph and Antonette “Nettie” (Larson) Werner. Leonard was a Plainville High School graduate. He served in the army during the Korean War. Leonard was united in marriage to Lucille (Hrabe) Werner on February 20, 1998 in Plainville, Kansas. Leonard was an avid fisherman and a great carpenter. He built baby cradles, kitchen cabinets, and mounted deer antlers for several people. Left to cherish Leonard’s memory is his wife, Lucille of the home; brothers, Richard Werner and wife Judy of Plainville, Vernon Werner of Flagler, Colorado, and Ron Werner and wife Jackey of Plainville; sister, Mary Lee Schmidtberger and husband Ed of Pratt, Kansas; step-daughter, Kari Hosier of Plainville; step-grandchildren, Shawn Hosier and Erin Hosier-Perez, step-great-grandchildren, Jayde Hosier, Keylee Hosier, Hunter Hosier, Meairanda Hosier-Perez, Lilianna Hosier-Perez, and Aden Hosier-Perez. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Antonette; and brothers, Joe and Don Werner.
