Mass of Christian Burial for Kelsey Linn Normandin, age 20, of Plainville, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainville with Father Galen Long as Celebrant. Kelsey passed away December 11, 2010 in Hays the result of an automobile accident. She was born September 10, 1990 the daughter of Larry & Carla (Girvan) Normandin. Kelsey was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainville. She was a 2009 graduate of Plainville High School and was attending Ft. Hays University majoring in Health & Wellness. While attending Plainville High School, Kelsey participated in volleyball all four years, dance team for four years including three years as captain. Kelsey was named All American in dance and received several National Dance Association Excellence in Leadership awards. She played softball for four years, worked on the yearbook for two years, the Cardinal Booster Newspaper for two years including one year as co-editor. Kelsey also served as a member of STUCO for two years including one year as secretary and one year as treasurer. She also was on the honor roll for four years, and was a homecoming candidate. Kelsey received the Dane G. Hansen Scholarship, and the Kansas ASA scholarship and a softball scholarship for Barton County Community College in Great Bend where she attended one year, Survivors include her parents, Larry & Carla of the home; her sister Amy Normandin of Denver, Colorado; her grandparents Duane “Shorty” and Lavonne Normandin of Plainville; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Blanche Girvan. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 Monday, 9-5 Tuesday at the Moore-Overlease Funeral Chapel. A Ladies Guild Rosary will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at the chapel. A Parish Vigil Service will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kelsey Linn Normandin Memorial Fund to be designated to several organization and may be sent in care of the Moore-Overlease Funeral Chapel, 409 S.
