Kay A. Zeman passed away Monday, June 23, 2014, at the Trego-Lemke Memorial Hospital in WaKeeney, Kansas at the age of 78. She was born on a farm near Collyer, Kansas on November 12, 1935 to Herman and Myrtle (Reeder) Flagler. Kay graduated from Trego Community High School in 1953. She married Keith Zeman January 1, 1957 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in WaKeeney. To this union 3 children were born, Ralph, Myra and Connie. Kay had many skills that she was able to put to good use during her years. She spent a lot of her time quilting and sewing. She loved to cook. She made candles and other crafts in her earlier years when her children were growing up. She also loved to play Bridge and Duplicate Bridge. She worked at Cleland’s Pharmacy for a few years and was a successful Avon sales representative. From 1988 until she retired Kay worked at the Trego Lemke Memorial Hospital LTC as a ward clerk. Left to cherish Kay’s memories is her son, Ralph Zeman and wife Sherry of Thornton, CO; daughter, Myra Howard and husband Brad of Grainfield, KS; son-in-law, Paul Fabrizius; brothers, Larry Flager and wife Linda of Topeka, KS and Worley Flagler and wife Jane of Overland Park, KS; sister Joyce Morlong and husband Ritchie of Clay Center, KS; five grandchildren, Tyler Fabrizius (and friend Kyra Turley), Jennifer Zeman, Brandon Zeman (Megan), Lance Howard and Janae Tuttle (Drew); and six great-grandchildren, Caleb Zeman, Hugh Turley, Adell Fabrizius, Bragen Zeman, Abagail Zeman and Carson Tuttle. Preceding Kay in death are her parents, Herman and Myrtle Flagler; husband, Keith Zeman; and daughter, Connie Fabrizius. Kay was a talented woman who loved what she did and did what she loved. Although she will be greatly missed, her life, her love and her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
