Harry Crawford Purdum Iv

February 1, 1966 — July 28, 2022

Harry Crawford Purdum IV passed away on July 28, 2022, at his home in Stockton, KS at the age of 56. He was born on February 1, 1966, to Harry C. Purdum III and Willardene Ellen (Davis) Purdum in Salt Lake City, Utah. Harry grew up mostly in Idaho as he attended 4th through 11th grade in Mountain Home. While in high school in Mountain Home, he was the football team photographer. His senior year the family moved to North Dakota where he graduated from Minot High School in 1984. After high school, he went to work at the local nursing home as a Dietary Aid for a year and then continued as a Dietary Aid for the nursing home in Clovis, New Mexico for a year. He then moved back home to Idaho and from 1987-2005 he worked as a Dietary Aid in Boise, and then Albertson’s Food Market as a produce Manager in Mountain Home, and later Featherville, where he lived in the mountains and worked for Trinity Springs Water Company until 2005. He then moved to Stockton where he provided various handyman and carpentry work to the community. Harry loved hunting and fishing, and he thoroughly enjoyed collecting rocks and gemstones which he designated an entire room in his house for. He also enjoyed gardening and took pride in taking care of his lawn as well as his parents’ lawn. Harry was as reliable as they come; he would always find a way when there was no way – even if it meant snowshoeing to work when no one else was able to get there! Harry will be greatly missed by those he leaves behind. Although he left us too soon, we are rejoicing with the angels as he enters his heavenly home, anticipating the time when we will see him again and be reunited together in eternity. Harry is survived by his parents, Harry and Willardene; brother, Willard (Tiffany) Purdum of Rock Springs, WY; sister, Ellen (Dewey) Bateman of Lubbock, TX; nieces, Isabelle and Violet Purdum, Jessica (Cameron) Scott, and Danae Fish; and great-nephews, Ezra and Charlie Scott. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 8, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home in Stockton with a graveside service to follow in the Stockton Cemetery in Stockton, KS. Memorials are suggested to Main Street Christian Church and may be sent in care of Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home, 723 N. 1st, Stockton, KS 67669.
