Gregory Lynn Brown passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at his home in Shawnee, Kansas at the age of 58. He was born on January 1, 1961 to Kenneth and Viola (Baum) Brown in Plainville. Greg grew up in Plainville and graduated from Plainville High School. After graduation, he furthered his education, earning his Associate’s Degree from the Vocational Technical School in Goodland, Kansas. He then worked as a programmer in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Tampa, Florida, and Sachse, Texas before moving to Kansas City where he resided for the remainder of his life with his wife, Paula. Greg enjoyed playing cards with his family. He also loved to cook, read, hunt, fish, and garden. Greg is survived by his wife Paula Harris of Shawnee; daughters Samantha Brown and significant other Andrew Hrabe of Hill City, and Deanna Garvert of Plainville; siblings Kenny Brown and wife Rhonda of Zurich, Blaine Brown and wife Amy of Plainville, Shayne Brown and wife Tierra of Plainville, Barbara West and husband Larry of Plainville, and Linda Ruder and husband Steve of Hays; one grandchild, Natalie Simpson; close friends, Chris and Jeanie Hrabe; and numerous nieces and nephews. Greg is preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Viola Brown. Graveside services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, February 4, 2019 at the Plainville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, February 3, 2019 from 3:00pm until 8:00pm. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association and may be sent in care of Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home, 320 SW 2nd Street, Plainville, KS 67663.
