Gregory Bernard Schulte passed away on December 18, 2014 in Abilene, Kansas at the age of 73. Wilma Maureen “Billie” (Horton) Schulte passed away on December 22, 2012 in Orlando, Florida at the age of 66. Greg was born on September 24, 1941 in Quinter, Kansas to Clarence Bernard and Angela Schulte. Maureen was born on August 24, 1946 in Cheverly Maryland to Robert Ray and Merl Horton. Both Greg and Maureen graduated from Plainville High School, Greg with the Class of 1960, and Maureen with the Class of 1964. They were united in marriage on June 26, 1965 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainville, Kansas. They were blessed with five children, Ray, Kevin, Melissa, Matthew, and Seth. Greg served in the United States Air Force and after their wedding he managed the COOP in Plainville before spending many years in the oilfield. Always hard working people, Maureen worked at Turnbull Supply, managed the clinic for Dr. Kelly, and worked at Plainville State Bank. Later they moved to Florida where Greg went to work for the Florida Department of Transportation before retiring to South Carolina while Maureen worked for Sun Trust Bank in both Florida and South Carolina. Greg and Maureen are survived by their children Ray Schulte and wife Virginia, Kevin Schulte and wife Peggy, Melissa Bonczynski and husband Jason, Matthew Schulte and wife Vicki, and Seth Schulte; Greg’s siblings Ronald Schulte and wife Delia, and Robert Schulte and wife Robin; Maureen’s siblings Robert Ray Horton, Jr. and wife Jean, Pat Dobson and husband Melvin, and Mary Lou Whisman and husband David; thirteen grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. They were preceded in death by their parents Clarence Schulte and Angela Mowry, and Robert Horton and Merl Larsen; and Maureen’s siblings Charles Barber, Dolores White, Rachel Boswell, and Linn Horton. Together Greg and Maureen lived, laughed, and loved. The greatest joy in their lives was time spent with family, friends, neighbors, church, and community.
