Georgia Ann Wanker

May 23, 1914 — August 8, 2013

Georgia Ann (Ondrasek) Wanker was born May 23, 1914 to George and Rose (Barcal) Ondrasek in rural Rooks County, Kansas. She passed away Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Rooks County Health Center in Plainville at the age of 99. Georgia graduated from Palco High School and was herself a teacher in the county schools for 3 years before marrying Roy Wanker. After their marriage on September 10, 1935 in Stockton, Georgia began the life she loved of being a homemaker and a farmer. Georgia loved family and fun. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Palco. Georgia enjoyed cooking, reading, working her word puzzles, especially crosswords and watching television. Game shows and soap operas were some of her favorites, especially Jeopardy, Wheel-of-Fortune and Days of Our Lives. Georgia will be greatly missed by her family, Darrell and Twilla Wanker of Holly Lake Ranch, Texas, Dean and Kathy Wanker of Zurich, Kansas and Carolyn and Dan Erbert of Nixa, Missouri; twelve Grandchildren along with many Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great-Grandchildren too numerous to mention. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Rose Ondresek; her husband, Roy Wanker; her son Gerald Wanker and daughter-in-law Bonnie Sue Wanker; and her sister Sylvia Moravcik. Georgia’s Final Jeopardy Question that she often asked was: Why am I still here? The Answer: Because you brought so much fun, joy and love to our lives and you will never be forgotten as you live forever in our hearts.
