Gary Porter

Gary Porter, 73, of Wilson, Kansas, passed away on January 10, 2025, at Wilson Care & Rehab in Wilson. He was born on September 14, 1951, to Buphard and Mary (Yates) Porter in Lynwood, California.

Gary grew up in California, where he attended school through 8th grade. A true lover of the beach, he spent many years living near the ocean. Five years ago he moved to Wilson from Long Beach. Gary worked as a cement truck driver, and he had a passion for really nice cars, NHRA drag racing, and attending concerts.

Gary is survived by his son, Shannon Porter; daughters, Tammy and Christina Porter; sisters, Connie Colony and Diana Holbert of Salina, KS; and nieces and nephews, John (Kimberly) and Tina Dennis of Salina, KS.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and nephew, Ben Dennis.

There will be no public services.
