Freda “Sharon” Hixon, of Russell, Kansas passed away on May 19, 2025, at the Krug House in Russell, Kansas, at the age of 83. She was born on June 10, 1941, to Frederick and Reva (Ouderkirk) Hixon in Julesburg, Colorado.
Sharon grew up in Idaho and Kansas. She lived in Parsons, Goodland, Hill City and lastly Russell. She was an avid colorer, Lego player and bead stringer - and her day was never complete without her pop and cookies! Sharon was known for her ornery smile that could brighten anyone’s day. Her mischievous sense of humor and playful teasing will be dearly missed and remembered by all who were touched by her warmth and spirit.
Sharon is survived by her siblings, Connie Jo (Jon) Clayton of Lakeland, Florida, Juanita (Earl) Lumpkins of Ransom, Kansas, Lowell (Shirley) Hixon of Hill City, KS; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; and her DSNWK family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Reva Hixon.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 21st at 3:00 PM, at Pleasantview Cemetery in Palco, KS.
