Flossie Mae Hake passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Villa Saint Joseph Care Center in Overland Park, KS at the age of 88. She was born July 6, 1925 to Jesse Milton and Genevieve (Campbell) Hunt in Stockton, KS. Flossie graduated from Stockton High School with the class of 1943. She married Edward J. Hake on August 26, 1946 in Plainville. They were blessed with five sons, Jerry, Dan, Leon, Brian and Leo; and two daughters, Jane and Marilyn. Flossie devoted her life to her children. Before marriage Flossie worked two years as Deputy County Treasurer of Rooks County. She also worked with the local VFW and later was employed by the State of Kansas with the Helping Hands until her retirement in the early 1980’s. She was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was very active most of her life. Flossie is lovingly remembered by her children; Jerry Hake and wife Wanda of Battleground, WA, Jane Hake Weis and husband Bob of Hoxie, KS, Dan Hake and wife Lori of Norman, OK, Marilyn Hake Byrd and husband Richard of Overland Park, KS, Leon Hake and wife Lisa of Wichita, KS, and Brian Hake and wife Barbara of Olathe, KS; 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse M. Hunt, Sr. and Genevieve Hunt; husband, Edward Hake; son, Leo Hake; brothers, Lee Hunt, Glenn Hunt, Jesse Hunt, Jr.; and sisters, Myrtle Waters, Vera Hunt, Velma Maddy, Helen Lindsey, and Hazel Lowe.
