Eva Maxine Dibble passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Solomon Valley Manor in Stockton, Kansas at the age of 92. She was born June 7, 1920 to William Ray and Lillian Hazel (Nowland) Snavely. Maxine was a graduate of Woodston Rural High School with the class of 1938. She was united in marriage to Dale D. Dibble on June 29, 1941 in Woodston, Kansas. Maxine worked as a bookkeeper for the CO-OP grain elevator. She also worked for the Woodston Mutual Phone Company as a Switchboard Operator. Maxine was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary, and Rooks County Historical Society. She loved her family and was very dedicated and passionate about them. She once took a plane so she could be at two of her grandsons’ graduations on the same day. When Maxine wasn’t spending time with her family she would volunteer her time at the Historical Society. She loved to travel out of state and collected a spoon from each one of them. Maxine enjoyed working in her garden, canning for the winter and making homemade ice cream. Maxine was always taking pictures so much that the albums she left for her family will always be a reminder of the wonderful times and all she did with them. Left to cherish Maxine’s wonderful memory are her children, Linda Nicholas and husband Arnie of Valley Center, Kansas, Max Dibble and wife Pam of Phillipsburg, Kansas, Lucille Dibble of Salina, Kansas, Helen Smith and husband Larry of Bakersfield, California, Ramona Dibble of Tonganoxie, Kansas, and Bill Dibble and wife Dixie of Woodston, Kansas; 11 grandchildren, Janice (Bob) Fontes, Tracy Herrick, Ben (Angela) Dibble, Jason Dibble, Coleen Dibble, Dustin (Missy) Dibble, Steve (Christina) Smith, Sam (Christine) Smith, Damian Dibble, Derry (Erin) Dibble and Dylan Dibble; and 18 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Lillian; husband, Dale; brother, Ray “Bud” Snavely Jr.; and sister, Emma Mae Snavely. Cling to Maxine’s memories and let them find their way to heal you. The love and laughter, the joy in the togetherness you shared, will make you all strong.
