Eula Rathbun

Eula L. Rathbun passed away on Monday, April 20, 2020 at the Redbud Village in Plainville at the age of 105. Eula was born in Palco, Kansas to Lewis and May Marcotte (Morton) on December 3, 1914. Eula was united in marriage to Hubert Rathbun on July 14, 1934 in Stockton, Kansas. They were blessed with four children: James, Leonard, Arthur, and Dorothy. Eula grew up in Palco and attended school until the eighth grade. She spent her life raising kids and working at home. She enjoyed square dancing and was a part of the American Legion Auxiliary in Palco. Eula was a Seventh Day Adventist. She is survived by her children, James (Virginia) Rathbun of Hays, KS, Leonard (Joan) Rathbun of Hoisington, KS, and Arthur (Charlene) Rathbun of Natoma, KS; sister, Laveita Scoggins of TN; fifteen grandchildren and thirty eight great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. Eula is preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and May Marcotte; husband, Hubert Rathbun; daughter, Dorothy Pruter; and siblings, Melvin Marcotte, Orren Marcotte, Marietta Baldwin, Twilla Nyp, Eyvonne Woods, and an infant sister. A private family service will be held at a later date due to COVID-19.
