Errol L. Bell

October 23, 1946 — December 1, 2016

Errol Lynn Bell, 70, passed away December 1, 2016, at his home in Hill City, surrounded by his wife and family. He was born October 23, 1946 in Hill City, Kansas, the only child of William and Violet (Beecher) Bell. Growing up in Hill City, he attended the local schools and graduated from Hill City High School in the class of 1965. Errol and Marjorie Kline were united in marriage May 21, 1972. They were blessed with three children: Karen Dawn, Audra Michelle and Wade Preston. Marjorie passed away, December 5, 2006. Errol always enjoyed good music and loved to dance, so most Saturday nights, you could find him at the Cowboy Junction. In fact, this was where he met Carol Morford. They fell in love and were married November 21, 2015. By profession, Errol was a cross country commercial trucker and retired in his early 60’s. This gave him the opportunity to spend quality time with his grown children and their children. He so enjoyed this time with them; whether it was giving tractor rides or just walking to the Hill City Park for afternoons in the fresh air. There are many stories of Errol’s adventurous nature. A particular story the children remember was his skiing episode. He had always enjoyed water skiing so, at the age of 62, he attempted downhill snow skiing. After all, he was a good water skier. Well, he showed great form, passing everyone on the trail, but this was only to come to a crashing halt when he realized—he didn’t know how to stop! Errol was preceded in death by his parents and first wife Marjorie. Leaving to mourn his passing are: his wife, Carol Ann Morford, Hill City; one son, Wade Preston and wife Mira Bell of Hill City; daughters: Karen Dawn and husband Wade Jueneman of Topeka, Audra Michelle and husband Shane Wente of Hoxie; step-children: Jade and husband Nate Wunderly of Thornton, Colorado, Torrey Morford and special friend Sherri Kyte of Oberlin, and Koi and wife Stacey Morford of Leawood, and 10 grandchildren. Errol was so full of life. His engaging personality allowed him to never know a stranger. A humble man, he was always eager to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Oh, how we will miss him, and his fun loving ways, and his goofy infectious smile.
