After discharge from the Army they established their home in Leavenworth, Kansas where Ernie worked for the Army as a civilian until his retirement in 1999. Upon retirement they moved back to Rooks County where they still had family ties. Ernie became Leah’s sole caregiver after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2005. She passed away on October 13, 2009 after 65 years of what Ernie termed, “Marital Bliss.” Ernie was active in the Stockton United Methodist Church. He also enjoyed eating his noon meals at the Senior Center in Stockton where he would lead exercises and socialize with many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Maude Trible, and wife Leah Trible. He is survived by a daughter, Georganna Tremmel of Denver, CO. Ernie was a man of faith, integrity, and hard work. Always caring more for those around him than himself, he gave of his time and talent to lay up for himself treasures in heaven. Now there is rejoicing as he hears the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter now into your Father’s glory.”
