Sarah Ellen (Wise) Kleinschmidt went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at the Rooks County Health Center in Plainville at the age of 92. She was born December 30, 1922 at Cedar, Kansas to George Andrew and Anna Emmaline (Binder) Wise. Ellen attended school at Woodston, Webster, and Dean School on the Saline River where she graduated from the 8th grade. She later graduated from Plainville High School with the class of 1940. Ellen married Carl Seefeld in 1945. They divorced in 1957. Ellen was united in marriage to Roy Kleinschmidt on May 7, 1960. Ellen worked for Schulte Derby Station, Kriley’s Lockers, and Daylight Donut Shop. She enjoyed doing for others especially volunteering at the Methodist Church Thrift Shop and Plainville Food Pantry. She loved being outside doing her garden and yard work. She did this until her health would not allow. Her favorite pastime was hand quilting. Ellen is survived by many nieces, nephews, church family, neighbors and friends, and a sister-in-law, Mary Wise of Grand Junction, Colorado. Ellen is the last of eleven children to go to their heavenly home. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Anna Wise; husband, Roy; five brothers, August, Glenn, Otto, Foster, and Wilbur; and five sisters, Ethel Smith, Nancy Clair, Mary Green, Ruth Ann Wingate and Florence Collier. Fiercely independent, Ellen inspired friends and family alike with her hard work, determination, and faith in God and herself. She was a constant encouragement to everyone who knew her.
