Elaine C. Brin

Elaine Cecilia (Roberts) Brin passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at her home in Plainville, Kansas at the age of 90. She was born on December 28, 1924 in Palco, Kansas to Maximillian and Melanie (Dussault) Roberts. On July 8, 1941 she was united in marriage to Donald “Don” Brin in Zurich, Kansas. They were blessed with six children. Elaine worked in the retail business at So-Fro Fabrics until her retirement, which she did twice. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and playing a good game of Pitch. She and Don spent countless evenings, in the company of great friends, square dancing. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainville and the Sacred Heart Guild. Survivors include her sons, Mac Brin of Pratt, Larry Brin and wife Paula of Hutchinson, Mark Brin and wife Jill of Monahans, Texas; daughters, Carol Fellhoelter and husband Leland of Plainville, Pat Ruder and husband Dave of Canon City, Colorado; daughter-in-law, Linda Brin of Plainville; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. Preceding Elaine in death were her parents, Maximillian and Melanie Roberts; husband Don Brin; son, Ron Brin; five brothers; and seven sisters. Elaine was an angel among us with a heart of gold. She set before us an example and taught us with her daily life how to act with justice, to treasure the Lord's gracious love, and to walk humbly in the company of God. We will miss her greatly, but only for a little while, until we see her again on the streets of gold.
