Eileen Rose Pratt

Eileen R. Pratt passed away Wednesday morning, April 10, 2013 at the Via Christi Villages in Hays, Kansas at the age of 81. She was born March 9, 1932 to Hugh and Helen (Robben) Campbell in the St. Anthony’s Hospital at Hays. Eileen attended rural schools and graduated from Leoville High School with the class of 1949. She was united in marriage to Fred D. Pratt on August 17, 1954 at Leoville. They were blessed with nine children, Dean, Evelyn, Dan, Don, Lori, Linda, Doug, Angie and Amy. Eileen worked alongside Fred on the farm. They worked very hard taking care of their family and their farm. Later Eileen worked for the Sheridan County Long Term Care. She spent many years leading the youth in the Sunshine 4-H club. She was a faithful member of St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church and Altar Society. She volunteered for the Swap Shop in Hoxie for many years. Eileen loved her family and enjoyed every moment spent with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing and cooking. She will be dearly missed by her sons, Don (Bulldog) Pratt of Hoxie and Dan Pratt of Selden; daughters, Evelyn Wahl of Bowman, ND, Lori Appelhans and husband Chris of Hays, Linda Godfrey and husband Steven of Las Vegas, NV, Angie Pratt of Rexford and Amy Kershner and husband Tate of Hays; grandchildren, Lindsey Wahl, Cole, Brett and Aubry Appelhans, Lauryn Godfrey, and Olivia, Madison and Ella Kershner; great-grandchildren, Owen and Layla Appelhans; sisters, Mary Ellen Meier of Hoxie, Alice Lindeman and husband Louis of Oakley, Millie Baalman and husband Murray of Grinnell, Agnes Winter of Hays. Preceding Eileen in death is her husband, Fred D. Pratt on April 14, 2012; parents, Hugh & Helen Campbell; son Dean Pratt and infant son Doug Pratt; grandson, Kody Godfrey; brothers, James, Dennis & Dave Campbell; sisters, Vera Moeder and Vivian Wegman.
