Douglas A. "Doug" Pfeifer

Douglas Albert Pfeifer was born October 20, 1985 to Wilfred Pfeifer and Donna (St Clair) Kirgis in Osborne, Kansas. He passed away Monday, August 13, 2012 at Prairie Haven Nursing Home in Kensington, Kansas at the age of 26. Doug had a car accident on May 6, 2011 near Woodston that shortened his life. After school as young man, Doug has worked as a Floor Hand on Oil Riggs for several years. He was dedicated to his job and family. He was blessed with two children, Jace & Aislynn Pfeifer. Doug enjoyed spending time with his family especially his children playing, barbequing or camping. He also enjoyed fishing and helping his uncle’s with recycling. His memory will be cherished by his children, Aislynn & Jace Pfeifer of Stockton; parents, Donna Kirgis and Wilfred Pfeifer of Woodston; sisters, Dena Pfeifer and significant other Max Ray and Debra Kolar and husband Brock all of Woodston; half-brother, Jason Smith of Augusta, Kansas; step-grandfather, John Kirgis of Russell. A Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 17, 2012 at the Stockton United Methodist Church with Pastor Les Ellis officiating. There will be no visitation, the family has chosen cremation. Memorials are suggested to the Doug Pfeifer Memorial Fund and may be sent in care of Smith-Moore-Overlease Funeral Home, 723 N. First, Stockton, KS 67669. Condolences may be left for the family at www.mooreoverlease.com Cemetery: Private inurnment at a later date.
