Dorothy Jean Lawver was born January 26, 1946 to Jesse and Jean (Lafferty) Hunt in McCook, NE. She passed away on March 6, 2012 in Ellis County, Kansas at the age of 66. Dorothy went to school in Lebanon NE and graduated from Lebanon High School with the class of 1964. She was united in marriage to Don Lawver on December 24, 1965. They raised their 3 sons on the farm and tworked side by side until Don's passing in 1994. After Don’s passing, Dorothy worked for Yuasa Exide Battery Factory in Hays for several years. She was currently employed by Adronics in Hays. She worked for DSNWK on weekends helping folks in their homes. Dorothy had a gift for loving everyone and lending a hand to anyone that needed it. Dorothy was a member of the Redline Church of God. She was a caring mother, and loved being a grandmother. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Don Lawver and wife Jacci of Olathe, KS, Marion Lawver and wife Veronica of Lenexa, KS, and Dallas Lawver and wife Theresa of Kansas City , KS; mother, Jean Hunt of Plainville; brother, Jerry Hunt and wife Betty of Wichita, KS; sisters, Jane Rudman and husband Rod of Halstead, KS and Kay Rogers and husband Dave of Newton, KS; grandchildren, Hunter & Isabel Lawver, Mercedes Desair, Aaron Lawver and fianc? Christina, Brook Lawver, and Warrick Lawver; and a great-grandson, Brantley Lawver. Preceding Dorothy in death was her husband Don on October 22, 1994; father Jesse; and brother, Jim Hunt. Funeral Services are planned for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2012 at the Red Line Church of God with Pastor Larry Butler officiating. Burial will follow in the Morland Township Cemetery. Friends may sign the guest book on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Moore-Overlease Funeral Chapel in Plainville. Memorials are suggested to the Dorothy J. Lawver memorial fund to be designated at a later date by the family and may be sent in care of Moore-Overlease Funeral Chapel, 409 S.
