Donna J. Simoneau

Donna Jean Simoneau, age 55, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, KS. She was born in Enid, Oklahoma October 4, 1956 to Jim and Norma (McElroy) Talburt. Donna graduated from Palco High School and attended 2 years of college at Fort Hays University. On September 25, 1976 she married Richard Simoneau in Palco, Kansas. To this union 3 children were born: Jennifer, Brett & Lindsey. She was a member of the Palco United Methodist Church and Quiet Women of Great Faith. She was very committed to her faith for herself and her family. She was very dedicated to her job of 23 years at Turnbull Oil where she was an office manager and bookkeeper. They were able to help her continue working from home through her illness. Donna loved golfing. She was known to hit the unexpected shot every round. She also loved all her friends, her poodles, her lawn, flowers, winter projects and morning walks with Brenda. She was the sweetest lady on earth, a little stubborn, very competitive and independent. She took pride in everything she did. Survivors include her husband, Richard, of the home; her parents Jim and Norma Talburt of McCallister, OK; son Brett Simoneau of Plainville, KS; daughters Jennifer Walker of West Plains, MO , and Lindsey Trumpp and husband Bryce of Damar, KS; brother Allen Talburt and wife Janice of Benton, Arkansas; sister Terry Griffith and husband John of WaKeeney, KS; granddaughter Brilynn Trumpp; and poodles Abby & Jackson. Funeral Services are planned for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2012 at the Palco United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery near Palco. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Moore-Overlease Funeral Chapel in Plainville. Memorials are suggested to Palco United Methodist Church with a portion going to Prairie Trails Golf Course in Hill City, Kansas.
