Donald William "Mr. P" Prickett

October 21, 1932 — November 15, 2012

Donald William Prickett passed away November 15, 2012 at the Sheridan County Health Complex in Hoxie, Kansas at the age of 80. He was born October 21, 1932 to William L. “Bill” Prickett and Wilma Glass. Don attended school in Plainville, Kansas and graduated from Plainville High School with the class of 1950. He also attended Kansas State University. On January 10, 1954, Donald married Donna Hartnett in Liberal, Kansas. To this union 4 children were born: Jackie, Andy, Brick and Tina. Don spent his entire life helping others and trucking. He bought his first truck when he was 14 and has had his own trucking company ever since which is now called Mr. P’s. For a few years early on, he was the fire chief in Plainville. Getting called out was always his excuse to leave his clothes out and not have to put them away. Left to cherish Don’s memory are his wife Donna of the home; son Brick and wife Sandy of Anthony, Kansas; daughter Tina Barton and husband Ross of Fruitland, Idaho; son-in-law Roger Stahl of Dodge City, Kansas; brother Larry Joe and wife Jackey of Wichita, Kansas; sister Norene Reed and husband Bob of Greeley, Colorado; 9 grandchildren, Tait Stahl, Tara Stahl, Tami Henry, Traci Goddard, Jed Prickett, Tiffany Williams, Kassie Smith, Jamie McLeod and Tyler Smith; and 14 great-grandchildren. Preceding Don in death are his parents William and Wilma; son William Andrew “Andy” Prickett; and daughter Jackie Stahl. Precious memories of Don will live on forever and bring comfort, joy and laughter to those friends and family left behind. Treasure the memories always. Reception: Elks Lodge of Hoxie
