Donald Wayne Munsell

Donald Wayne Munsell, 86, of Natoma, Kansas, passed away on April 3, 2025, at Redbud Village in Plainville, Kansas. He was born on February 13, 1939, to Chesley Charles and Mary Ellen (Brown) Munsell in Russell, Kansas. He married Judith Marie (Thompson) on August 1, 1969, in Winfield, Kansas.

Donald grew up in Natoma and graduated from Natoma High School in 1956. He worked in various roles throughout his life, starting with his uncle’s well service at Brown Brothers. He also ran a delivery route for Bankers Dispatch in Wichita and worked as a pumper on the river for Clinton Oil. Additionally, Donald served as a crane operator for both Kyle in Phillipsburg and Rooks County.

In his free time, Donald enjoyed woodworking, golfing, and word searches, and he was always busy creating or tinkering with something. His family and friends will remember him for his hard work, kindness, and the joy he took in the simple pleasures of life.

Donald is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judith Munsell, of Natoma; children, Alan (Jeanne) Munsell of Plainville, Mike (Connie) Stithem of Stockton, Scott (Sherri) Munsell of Bushland, Texas, Shelly (Dale) Wilkerson of Zurich, Missy (Jon) Patocka of Kansas City, MO, and David (Keiko) Munsell of Haysville, KS; 15 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chesley and Mary Ellen Munsell and daughter, Donna Mills.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 2:00 PM, at the Natoma Cemetery.
