Donald “Don” D. Farr, 96, of Stockton, KS, passed away on February 1, 2026, at Solomon Valley Manor in Stockton.
Don was born on March 20, 1929, on the family farm near Stockton, Kansas, to Roy George and Ellen Aukus Farr. From the very beginning, farming, family, and hard work were part of who he was. He graduated from Stockton High School in 1947 and soon after proudly served his country in the United States Army until 1953. During his service, he was stationed at Fort Riley and served in Korea—something he carried with quiet pride throughout his life.
On April 1, 1956, Don married Georgia Schultz at the Stockton United Methodist Church, and together they shared nearly 70 years of marriage. They built a life grounded in faith, hard work, and family, and Don remained a faithful member of the Stockton United Methodist Church throughout his life. He was also a lifetime member of the Stockton VFW.
Don devoted his life to farming and ranching, raising registered polled Hereford cattle, milking cows, and hauling milk to a cheese factory in Bogue, Kansas. A true jack-of-all-trades, Don was a mechanic, carpenter, and fabricator who could fix, build, or invent just about anything. He built his own machine shed, created tools to make farm work easier, helped the Rooks County road crew, assisted the Bigge family with moving houses, and drove truck whenever help was needed. He loved farming, working with his hands, and even had a special fondness for his pet bull, Old Joe.
Don was deeply involved in the lives of his children and grandchildren, who loved him dearly. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Georgia Farr of Stockton; children, Steven (Joan) Farr of Stockton and Linda Iman of Alton, KS; two grandchildren, Christina (Wayne) Graf and Rebecca (Joseph) Grim; and six great-grandchildren, Krystel, Koltyn, Katelynn, and Kody Graf and Joseph and Steven Grim.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles Farr; and sister, Margaret Burge.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 2PM at the funeral home in Stockton. Burial will follow at the Stockton Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday 5-7PM with the family receiving friends 5-6:30PM at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Solomon Valley Manor and may be sent to Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home, 723 N. 1st, Stockton, KS 67669.
